PostEgram Review


Have you ever heard of PostEgram? Are you a facebook user? If you are this is such a cool service.

I have had the privillage to review this product and boy is it ever neat. To give you an idea of how long it might take. PostEgramI signed up 6/4/10 and my first newsletter went out 6/11/10 and I just got it on 6/15/10. You do have to allow time for them to gather the information and time for you to make any edits.  According to my schedule the newsletter will go out every month(see below for schedule). The quality is really good. My newsletter contained many pictures all very good quality.  If you don’t have enough content to fill the newsletter you will be asked at sign up what type of filler information you want in there.  They really do make this very simple and easy to do.
PostEgram prints and mails your status and photos, helping you stay in touch with family members who do not have a computer or Internet access–like older parents, grandparents or loved ones in the military. I was able to send my Mom one, who doesn’t even know how to turn a computer on, and she was thrilled. In her issue, she got to see pictures of her Nieces daughter’s graduation that she was unable to attend. I really think it made her day.  It made her feel more connected to the family. Great family bonding tool.

My career has always been important to me. So I knew when we started a family that I would be a working mom. Not only because we needed the money but because I take pride in my job.Career and Family I don’t think I am the stay at home type of mom. So how do I stay close to my family and have a career too? You can do it. I just have to prioritize. Family first, job second, period!

Kids Fitness- Prevent Childhood Obesity


I wasn’t considered ‘obese” until I was in 7th/8th grade. My parents were never concerned about it because it wasn’t that big of an issue. But over the past 30 years childhood obesity has tripled all because we as parents get lazy. Childhood ObesityI think society plays a part, I have no control over what my son eats at daycare, but I think it’s up to us parents to instill healthy living while they are young.

Get Organized- More Family Bonding


I am the worst organizer in the world I think. My house is always in ciaos. Things don’t have a place and my sonOrganized House doesn’t help matters. My main issue is that I don’t have a lot of storage in my house. I don’t think I have a lot of “junk” either just things are always a mess. One of my goals this year is to get my house organized. I find that if things are picked up I am less frustrated and things don’t set me off.  So here are some things I found that can get me started in the right direction.

Space the work

  • Don’t think about the overall picture or you will get overwhelmed. I try to do 15 min per day. Now I know that doesn’t sound like much but think of what you can get done in 15 of  uninterrupted time. You will be surprised that 15 min can turn into 30 min or an hour.

Get help

  • This would be a good time to get your kids involved. Make it fun for them to pick up their room or put toys away. Ask your husband to help, which I know is am impossible task at time, or have a friend come over that enjoys organizing. It’s okay to ask for the help.

Reward yourself

  • It’s okay to give yourself a reward for finishing a task. I would however make the reward small. My reward is asking my husband to watch our son so I can have 30 of “me” time either away from the house or locked in the bedroom.

Finding your bills

  • If you are like me your mail is everywhere so when I need to find a bill to pay it takes me 30 mins and lots of frustration to find it. I have a shelf as you walk into my house that is a catch all for everything and normally that is where the bills are buried. Fine a special place to put those bills so they are in one spot and easy to find.

If you have an organized home you have an organized life. It helps take the stress off of having to do it all at one time. Once you get organized it’s just maintaining from there. You also get to spend more time bonding with your family. You can do it. I can do it.  I know how it makes me feel to have a clean and organized house and it’s wonderful. I am happy and mentally healthy when it happens. Why not experience that too?

Summer Activities


Summer is approaching and lots of family bonding takes place. You kids have almost 3 months off from school so make them count. Keep them active and off computers and TV. Summer ActivitiesOver the next few months I thought it would be nice to list some activities the family can do together. It a great time to get outside, do activities and stay active.

Make A Kite

Flying a kite is good exercise and a lot of fun. Instead of going out and buying a kite, get crafty and make one instead.  You will need fabric, strong glue, two wooden dowels and string.

Family Vacations


It is good family bonding when you can take family vacations and it would surely open you children’s eyes to a lot more of new knowledge and discovery. When you bring along your kids in your trips, this is not only a way of bringing them close to your heart but also through this, your child would definitely make him or her more aware about the world around him or her.

Well, when kids are with you, you need to be more prepared because, as we all know, they have special needs and we have to respond to such needs. I have come up with, what I think, is an essential list of thing that you may need for your entire family vacation.

Stressed Out Kids


Baseball practice, piano practice, dance class, after school activities, homework, family night, church activities! Are our kids doing too much? It’s an epidemic that is Stressed Out Kidssweeping through our homes. It’s about giving our kids what we never had growing up, but too much can be a bad thing.

When we too many extracurricular activities to our plates we miss out on some very valuable family moments. Not only that but stress is becoming more of an issue with kids.

If you want your child to participate in other activities, try limiting the number of extracurricular activities they are involved in. Let your child take the time to see which activities he really likes and stick with those. And please, don’t try to make the decisions for them just because it is something you did or always wanted to do.
