Pork gets a bit of a bad reputation, but that’s mainly because nobody knows the best way to cook it. Most of us get pork in the form of bacon, which is hardly good for you. But, if you get fresh pork cuts, you can use it as an alternative to many other types of meat for a different spin on your evening meals. Looking to get more from your pork? Here are three delicious recipe ideas that you should try:

Pork stir fry

This is such a classic and easy recipe that everyone should try. It’s the perfect evening meal when you just want to whip something together in one pan and have it on your plate in a few minutes. The beauty of a stir fry is that you can add whatever you like to it. Choose your vegetables, choose either rice or noodles, and decide on your sauce. Pork pairs really well with ginger-infused and sweet sauces, so keep that in mind. You add the pork strips to your pan first, stirring it as it fries before adding in the veg and then your noodles or rice. The whole process can take, maybe 20 minutes from start to finish? It’s super quick, super tasty, and goes well with some sesame seeds sprinkled on the top.

Smoked pork brisket

Pork brisket is a specific cut of pork that includes two muscles connected by a strip of fat. That strip of fat is important as it’s where all the flavor comes from, giving you juicy and moist meat. Smoked pork brisket is an instant winner, and you can eat this with your sides of choice. Personally, I think it goes well with some mashed potato and a few greens, possibly with some barbecue sauce for added moisture. If you have one, then cooking pork brisket on the grill is the best method. This lets you get that smokey flavor you’re looking for, but it is also possible in a regular oven. This is more of a Saturday or Sunday dinner as you want to cook the pork for a long time. 3 hours is usually what it takes to get nice tender and juicy meat.

Breadcrumbed pork and chips

Like chicken, pork is very tasty when coated in breadcrumbs. You need to get some thin slices of pork for this, which might mean bashing a few fillets with a rolling bit. Then, coat them in a breadcrumb mixture that includes seasonings of your choice, before cooking them. You can fry them in a pan or air fryer, and you can also bake them in the oven. It depends on how healthy you want to be! This goes so well with some homemade chips – again, air fry or bake to make them healthier – and a crisp salad on the side.

It’s always good to add more diversity to your evening meals. If you’re always eating chicken or beef, pork is a great way to switch things up. Try these tree recipes for flavors upon flavors!
