Cooper just turned 5 in August and a lot of people asked why I didn't send him to school. I just don't think he is ready for that step yet. Between my daycare and us at home, we are trying to get him ready for next fall. One thing that has helped us is the Rock N Learn DVD's. If you missed my last review of the Rock N Learn Letter Sounds please check it out.
Rock 'N Learn brought together music and learning. Rock 'N Learn programs help students learn math, phonics, reading, early childhood, social studies, Spanish, test-taking strategies, writing, and science. Our DVDs incorporate music with exciting, colorful imagery. Rock 'N Learn has received several awards over the years and they keep on developing great programs for kids.
I was thrilled to get the chance to review Rock N Learn Sight Words. Sight Words will help your child learn over 60 sight words. The DVD features fun songs, cute characters and repetition to engage your child’s mind. The words are presented in context, so that your child will not find them difficult to learn. Included are the pre-primer Dolch words, the top 20 from Fry’s plus more.
Cooper is getting really good and recognizing words. He isn't quite reading yet but this sure has helped him. It really does help to see the word and then here out it sounds. My son also loves music and dancing along with it. So this was perfect. All of the Rock N Learn DVD's get the kids to learn in a fun way that they will remember. This DVD will be one that we will be playing over and over until school starts next year!
If you are doing homeschooling this would make a great addition to your schedule. Fun for the kids yet still learning!
This just in… The fantastic folks at Rock N Learn are giving one reader their pick of any DVD the site! US Only ends 9/20. Thanks Rock N Learn!
