Are you the sort of person who despairs about your brain’s ability to remember important information or problem solve? You’re not alone. In fact, many people feel this way; what they don’t realise is how powerful the brain is regardless of who you are. With some learning strategies and techniques, you can unlock the power of your brain and improve its overall performance for your work or your life. Read on to find out more about the brain and how you can improve your with simple techniques.

Try New Things

Your brain has an unlimited capacity for learning new things and developing, even if you don’t think you’ve got a good memory or that you’re very intelligent. Although it’s an organ, it sometimes works like a muscle, meaning that you must stimulate it in order for it to respond. The best way to do this is to try new things. Write a list of five things you’ve never done before and committed to trying them. Crosswords and puzzles are also terrific.

Use learning Strategies

It’s very common for people to think and feel like they have a limited brain capacity. It might be because of poor grades in school or a dismissive comment. The reality is the brain has a huge capacity to learn if we adopt some useful strategies; these include mnemonics for remembering names and numbers and visualisation techniques for items and spelling. Eat Healthily

If you don’t feed your brain with the right nutrients and minerals, you will notice a reduction in its performance. You may not know why you can’t remember a word or a name, or can’t seem to think creatively about a problem, but the chances are your brain is lacking vital minerals. You can support your brain’s performance by eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, and consuming omega three oil. Your brain consumes 20% of all nutrients in your system, so make sure you introduce the best kind.

Use Mindfulness

Mindfulness techniques can also help you to improve the performance of your brain by challenging it to think outside the box. If you are distracted, then bring your attention into the present moment and concentrate on the movement of the activity you’re engaged with. You might choose to focus on a sight as well as a sound or the words on a page as well as the meaning. Turning these two wheels simultaneously helps to improve your concentration and builds new pathways.

Revise

Nothing trains the brain better than continual revision. The more you go back over old ground, the more depth there will be to your learning. It’s said that to really understand a text or subject, you need to expose yourself to it three times. The first time you get the gist, and the seconds and third times you learn more about the subject. So, if you want to learn something properly, you can’t settle for just one reading of it; it’s not enough.
