Four Ways To Make Your Home a Healthier Place To Be
When you think about being healthier, then we automatically just think of eating well and exercising more, right? And while those things are good for you, there is much more to being healthy than just what you eat or how much exercise you do. If you don’t overhaul your life to make it all healthier, then it can counteract all of the exercise and healthy eating that you’ve been doing. For instance, you’ve been eating a plant based and refined sugar-free diet for a while now. But if you’re living in an environment that is full of toxins, then it is filling your body back up with the things you were trying to avoid. So it won’t help you to progress, in terms of your health anyway. The environment that you surround yourself in does matter. So here are some ways that you can make your home a healthier place to be.
Use an Air Purifier
If you are breathing in clean air, then it is going to be better for you than breathing in contaminated air. So getting a purifier is a really good way to improve your health. So many of us have breathing problems or things like asthma. And the polluted environment we live in isn’t going to help that. So look to create a sanctuary in your home with pure air to breathe.
Consider a Water Purifier
As with the air that we breathe, how can we be in optimal health if we air drinking in toxins and bacteria? So a water purifier could be a good idea too. The tap water we drink isn’t all that pure. And bottled water, especially from a plastic bottle, could be filled with contaminants too. You could even consider getting filters for your water system like the Black Berkey filters. They have shown to be good at removing bacteria from the water but also killing viruses. So it is perfect for busy families that want to stay well.
Switch Your Candles
We all like our home to smell good, which is why scented candles are one of the most popular things around at the moment. But if they are paraffin based, then they can be particularly hazardous to our health. They have been shown to emit hazardous chemicals that can lead to health problems and even cancer. There are alternatives, though, so you just need to know what to look for. You can choose soy candles or beeswax candles, and they will be much better for you. Diffusing essential oils can also be a good option, especially if you are looking to just have the scent, rather than the flame.
Clear Your Cabinets
If you have foods in the home that are bad for you, such as sugar-laden sauces or empty calorie junk food, then the chances are that you will eat them at some point. So in order to avoid the ‘temptation’ (if you can even call it that), is to get rid of them in the first place. Then you’ll have space to stock up on whole foods and healthy grains.
