Health Problems You Might Not Know Are Caused By Stress
Stress can do multiple things to the body. Most of these things we know all too well, as many people have to cope with the lower energy levels, fatigue, ‘brain fog’, and reduced patience that come with feeling stressed out. And when that stress becomes chronic, it can be hard to recognize yourself after a while!
But there are many less common symptoms of stress that people don’t realize are caused by stress. Knowing that they could be, however, is part of fighting and busting the problem out of our life! And they’re the kind of thing we’re going to go into today; down below are some health problems you could be dealing with that have their roots in stress.
Skin Sensitivities
Your skin is often the first organ in your body that shows what stress is doing to you. From rashes to hives to dry patches to being more spotty than usual, stress can wreak havoc on your skin.
Not only does this make your skin more itchy, and even painful, but it can make you feel far less confident than usual too. That can then feed back into the stress you’re already dealing with, and on and on this little cycle goes.
Stay hydrated, stay moisturized, and try to stay cool where and when you can. Heat can be another physical stressor on the skin, and that won’t help when you’re already stressed everywhere else!
Toilet Troubles
Have you been having difficulties with your gut recently? Some people can experience stress in the gut more than anywhere else in their body, and both constipation and diarrhea can strike.
Many people can feel a churning feeling in their stomach and lower abdomen when something stressful is going on, and that’s usually a sign your body is responding to the feelings you’re being overwhelmed by.
This is also one of the most embarrassing stress symptoms you can deal with, but it’s not one you have to suffer alone with. You can start using things like CBD vape juice to help stay calm in the moment, take supplements that could have similar effects, and talk to your doctor about medications that may be helpful too.
Hair Hell!
Do you enjoy sporting long, voluminous waves of hair that maintain their shine and bounce all day long? Have you noticed that your hair has gotten a lot limper, broken, and more dull ever since you started coping with a stressful period in your life? It’s no coincidence!
Stress can make your hair a lot thinner, more porous, and you may notice a lot more split ends than usual. Hair is very reactive, even to the emotions going on inside our bodies, and that can show in the quality of your strands.
Don’t panic; you can fix hair-related woes with a new haircare treatment or a simple trim from the hairdresser.
Stress can do a number on your health. If you have symptoms like these, they could be stress related.
