Mindful Moms Always Have These In Their Cars
Moms know that they need to be prepared for all contingencies. This includes having a number of things on hand in their cars. Why? Because the last thing they want is to need an item, such as diapers or wipes, but not have them handy. The results could be catastrophic, or at least, just very messy. No matter how old your kids are, your car from Baldwin Lincoln needs to have these useful items in it. There’s nothing quite like being prepared!
Extra Pairs of Shoes
You’d be surprised at how often kids lose their shoes somewhere between the house and the car. Sometimes they even vanish in the car itself. A good solution involves having some cheap pairs of flip flops handy.
Umbrellas
Whether your kids play sports or spend a lot of time walking from place to place, an umbrella is useful to have. It can keep you dry when it’s raining, and get the sun off of your upper body on hot days.
Old Towels
Spills happen when you least expect them to. Having an old towel or two nearby can keep your car pretty clean. These towels are also good for cleaning up mud and other things.
Extra Clothing
It never hurts to have some extra clothes on hand. A good rule of thumb is to keep at least one seasonally appropriate outfit for each child in the trunk. This way, if a spill occurs and you don’t have time to go home and change, you have some options.
First Aid Kits
A first aid kit has many uses. It contains standard things like Band-Aids and gauze, as well as anti-itch lotion, bug spray, and sunscreen. Keeping one in the trunk or backseat of the car means that you’re prepared in case of minor wounds and basic emergencies.
Toys
No matter how old your children are, they might need some in-car entertainment. Just get a gallon-sized sealable bag and stash some small toys in it. Those from fast food kids meals work great for this purpose. Some small dolls, a car-ready craft project, and even a tennis ball or two are good to have on hand to stave off boredom.
Foldable Chairs
You never know when you’ll need a foldable chair. They come in handy if your kids play sports, or even if you like to pick up and go fishing at a moment’s notice. It’s always good to have a few foldable chairs in your trunk. Thankfully, they don’t take up much space.
Snacks and Bottled Water
Hungry kids are cranky kids. For this reason alone, stash some snacks (crackers are great) and bottled water in the backseat of your car from Baldwin Lincoln.
Hand Sanitizer and Wet Wipes
Messes happen when you least expect them to. An old towel (as we described above) is helpful, but at times, you need something that’s wet to clean up a mess. This is where wet wipes come in. The hand sanitizer? Well, you never know what those public restrooms are going to be like.
