Happy Healthy Monday
Well six months of the year have wizzed by. Six month of doing nothing about this weight has been wasted. Today I officially, OMG am I gonna say it.. 280lbs. OMG I just fainted.
This is the highest weight I have been, even pregnancy weight. I am 20lbs from hitting 300lbs which at this rate WILL happen this year. Sometime in January I remember weighing 246. So in six months I have gained 34lbs. I am so ashamed of that.
As I was out an about this weekend I realzied that it’s hard for me to move around with all this weight on me. I breathe hard, move slow, and sitting down my pants cut off all oxygen off to the upper half of my body. This isn’t okay and I don’t know why I am okay with it. Well I am not okay with it but I have to be right if I am not doing anything about it? The thought of all the work it takes overwhelms me and I just can’t be bothered to do any of it. I feel…. stuck.
Now that I will be starting a new job this week there are some benefits to it. It will force me to pack my lunches, I am too far from home. On nice days there is a really nice walking trail I can go eat and walk at. Oh and there isn’t much for eating out around there so that is a HUGE plus for me. I am excited to start this job. I am hoping the people are nicer and I won’t hate going in each day.
My goal this week is simple. Do something, anything. I am going to focus mainly on food because that is key. I know for sure I will hit the gym at least once for the free workout class I am going to. I am also going to try my Taebo DVD’s I got. I would do the Walk at Home video but Mentallyinked robed me as the winner (just kidding). I might have to go to target and check them out.
Okay enough babble from me.. onto the recipe.

GREAT looking salad!
Baby steps…you got the right idea!
I think doing anything is a heck of a first step. ((hugs)) we’re with you and here to support you in this. I promise.
I would say that if you are gaining weight this rapidly there is defiantly something either wrong in your head (I mean stress not crazy) OR you should get checked out by doctor. I have a girlfriend that has a hormone disorder. She gained 60 lbs. rapidly in a year, but started from a skinny minnie. Then found out that 1 out of 8 women get this hormonal thing. And then I met another woman who had the same thing not too long ago.
If it’s because you are overeating and not getting any exercise and you know that is the culprit. Small steps are best to start out with. Don’t go all out, cause you need to make it easier on your psyche. I know this from experience. I was a couch potato who got winded getting to the car. Just choose a couple of small manageable things to work on. And make them part of your daily routine. When they become habit, move on.
We’re here for you, all of us Sistas. You’ve already taken a huge step forward: you’ve decided it’s time to change. Slow and steady, lifestyle changes can be really intimidating and overwhelming, both physically and emotionally. I believe in you and I think you’re going to do great if you work hard and commit. You’ve got an army behind you but you’ve got to take the first steps forward 🙂 Keep us posted and good luck on the first week at the new job 🙂
That salad looks yummy. I love melons. Good luck with your new job and getting “unstuck”. Baby steps will get you there. ((hugs))
Sorry to hear you’re feeling hopeless. It’s easier to look at the small goals, like you listed. Maybe just make ONE goal so that you don’t feel so overwhelmed? This stuff is really hard, and maybe just expressing your frustration will help. We have all been there. Hang in there!
Good for you for deciding to do something/anything. I know you can do it, and I’ll be cheering you on!!
Do something, anything is a great goal. Put in an action plan to work with your body after your little reality check. Good luck lady. Also work with the great weather of summer on your side to jump start your goals.
I agree with Leah above, it is more than likely hormonal and could be your thyroid also. Sleeping around too many electrical frequencies can disrupt your melatonin and your sleep cycle. Hopefully you don’t have wireless routers or cordless phones close by or in your bedroom. I can send you more information on this if you are interested. You should hook up with Julie Elliot she is doing a challenge and hers has to do with weight loss. Best of luck to you in your new job and your new lifestyle.
Pick one of those goals and start there. I know what you mean about finding it harder to move and such. I find the same. You can do it!!
FYI the walk at home dvd’s, actually all workout dvd’s are on sale at target this week.
Karla love..you are now rid of that horid job you hated so much..you life is bright and your future is even brighter! You can do this honey!
Baby steps is how I started out. I took it slow and it just started to click and now I dont need to think so much about doing it. I just do it. Were here for you to reach out to just shout if you need some support. You can do it!
Hey Karla,
I’m a firm believer that the biggest part of your weight gain has been your stress on the job.
SEVERAL years ago…. 8? I had a job that was SOOO stressful, and I was so depressed because of the job, that all I did was eat, eat, eat, and sit, sit, sit around. I attribute that to a lot of my weigh gain.
I hope this job helps you turn a new leaf and gives you am ore positive outlook on your life and your self worth. You are such an awesome person, and you deserve the best, babe!
You’re gonna rock this job, and rock the weight loss! I just KNOW IT!
I LOVE YOU SO VERY MANY MUCHES!!!
I felt the same way when I saw I weighed 263 lbs. A month later, I’m at 250 and taking it day by day. If there’s something stressful that’s bothering you/if you’d like to get it off your chest, I’m here for ya! Eager to see what you think of the Taebo DVD’s. 🙂
Get thee to a doctor, Karla! Make sure there isn’t anything physically wrong.
And I am excited that you are excited about your new job. Stress is killer (in so many ways!) and I’m glad the new job isn’t stressing you out.
Love you, Karla! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!
You can do this! I KNOW you can! That salad looks delicious! I finally bought a melon baller so I can’t wait to get some watermelon balls in the fridge for quick snacks!
Karla, very wonderful for you to come clean. The last 6 months have been stressful with work and I bet that was a big contributing factor. With this new job will come other wonderful changes. I am pulling for you!
BIGHUGS and DEEPBREATH… the great thing about this life is that each day starts new and fresh. We can pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off… and start over. I think you are awesome… and I KNOW that you can do this!! Have a great rest of the week!!
