goonIf you were a fan of the love affair between Monica and Chandler on “Friends,” you won’t want to miss the upcoming episode of “Go On.” “Go On” is a popular NBC comedy that features Matthew Perry. Perry is best known to fans of prime time TV as Chandler Bing, the boyfriend and eventual husband of Monica Geller who was played by Courteney Cox.

“Go On” Review

“Go On” is a NBC comedy directed by Scott Silveri. In the show, Ryan King is a new widow. King’s wife was killed in a car accident while texting. King, a sportscaster, doesn’t deal with his wife’s sudden death exceptionally well. In fact, he becomes incredible angry that his wife died while texting, and left him alone in the world. As a result, King is ordered to attend mandatory grief group therapy sessions. Although King is reluctant to attend the group, and even more reluctant to participate in the group, he eventually begins to deal with his overwhelming grief. Through dealing with his grief, Ryan is able to go on with his life.

Perry is joined on the show by several regular group therapy members including Bill Cobbs, Tyler James Williams and Sarah Baker.

Monica and Chandler Reunion

Although they won’t be playing Chandler and Monica, the former co-stars will reunite in April when Cox appears on Perry’s sitcom “Go On.” It is rumored that Cox will appear as a love interest for the newly widowed Ryan. However, fans of either show shouldn’t get their hopes up regarding a permanent reunion. Cox is currently starring in her own sitcom, “Cougar Town,” which is in the middle of its fourth successful season on TBS.

Cox’s Cougar Town

On “Cougar Town,” Cox plays Jules Cobb, a newly divorced, middle-aged woman. Jules has a grown son, Travis (Dan Byrd) and is still immensely interested in dating, even if it is younger men. Unfortunately for Jules, dating is harder than it looks, and her love problems are compounded by her awkward relationship with her ex-husband, Bobby (Brian Van Holt), her sexy and quirky neighbor Grayson (Josh Hopkins) and her out-of-control friends Laurie (Busy Phillips) and Ellie (Christa Miller).

“Cougar Town” has been highly successful since it debuted four seasons ago. In fact, the show has been nominated for several awards including a Golden Globe nomination and a People’s Choice award. With the success of “Cougar Town,” it is unlikely that Cox would have the time or the desire to join Perry on the cast of “Go On” as a regular.

Although the relationship will likely be brief, people all over the world are excited to see Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry reunite on the small screen, even if it is for just an episode or two. Many fans and critics of the show “Friends” are anxious to see if Cox and Perry can still hypnotize audiences with their obvious attraction to each other nearly a decade after Friends went off the air.
